How to look Redeemed Ann Landers tells this story about four people: Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everyone was asked to do it. Everyone was sure Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it. Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everyone's job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when actually Nobody asked Anybody. Actually, the greatest Somebody of all is telling not just Anybody, but You, that there is a most important job to be done. Morever, Nobody but You is being asked to do that job. The Lord Jesus is asking nobody but You to look redeemed and to act redeemed. And Then, There's This... A priest was baptizing a six week old baby. During the ceremony the baby was peacefully sleeping in his mother's arms. When the priest was about to pour the water on his head, the baby suddenly awoke with a soft whimper. After the ceremony the priest mentioned to the mother that he was surprised the baby awoke so abruptly just at that moment. "Oh," she replied, "I squeezed his toes to wake him. I didn't want him sleeping through his baptism." Her comment was a reminder that we should always be alert to our baptismal promises. This "once upon a time" event, but a daily way of life. If we ignore our faith, allow evil to lead us and fail to pursue a life of Christian virtue, then we are sleeping through our baptism. Jesus, when I spiritually doze, pinch my toes and wake me up. Enthronement of The Fourth Bishop of Passaic The enthronement of the Fourth Bishop of our Eparchy, the most Rev. William C. Skurla, D.D. will take place on Tuesday, January 29 th at 2:30 pm in our Cathedral Church in Passaic. Realizing the limited availability for the Solemn Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and limited facilities for the banquet which will follow the enthronement, each parish in our Eparchy has been issued five tickets so that there will be representatives from each of our parishes. According to the directive of our Chancery Office, five representatives from our Parish will be designated to attend this enthronement ceremony and banquet. Please understand the fairness of this directive which will be of benefit to all our parishes in the Eparchy. We look forward to this historical event in the life of our Passaic Eparchy. All Souls Saturdays The first All Souls Saturday is January 26 th. By our communal prayer and Liturgy we remember we remember those who have been called to their eternal reward. Please be sure to list the names of your deceased loved ones on the All Souls card provided in your Offertory envelope box and submit them at this time.
