[Some people brought a paralytic to Jesus to be healed]

Seeing how much faith they had, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, "My son, your sins are forgiven." [At once the man was healed.]

Mark 23

A famous singer said: "I owe my entire career to my wife. She had faith in me at a time when I didn't have faith in myself." The paralyzed man appears to have been like the singer. He owed his healing to the faith of his friends. They were the ones who believed that Jesus could and would heal him.

I, too, have been helped by the faith of other people. Apart from my parents, who is one person who has helped me in a special way in my faith journey>

You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.

Family Day at Carpathian Village

Dandelion Christians

Christians should be more like dandelions. Our sunny yellow faces should be a reminder that simple faith has deep roots that are impossible to dislodge. Our vast numbers should show that world that even though we are not fancy or pampered, we are evident everywhere, even in the best neighborhoods.

Holy Name Society News

The men of St. Michael's Holy Name extend appreciation to the 90 guests who attended last Sunday's Breakfast honoring Fathers. Congratulations are shared with Mark Hrehovcik who was chosen as the '08 "Man of the Year".

Hunger doesn't take a vacation

The hungry live everywhere, even among us. The idea of not knowing where a family's next meal will come is a growing reality even in New Jersey. The economy with the ever-increasing rise in food prices is felt here and everywhere. For many, many years our Parish has consistently responded to the less fortunate, to families with small children especially, who struggle to put food on the table. During the summer months of July and August I strongly urge you to pick up extra items and place them in your grocery shopping cart and earmark them for our Parish Food Drive. Your non-perishable food offerings, big or small, may be placed in the Chapel or Cathedral vestibules. That we may never forget: The Lord calls us to help others!

Called to Eternal Life

We received notice that Sister Pauline Louise, OSBM, died at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of St. Basil the Great, Uniontown, PA, on Tuesday, June 17 th in the 58 th year of monastic life. Sister Pauline Louise was well-known to us having served at St, Michael's for many years. May the light of Our Lord's face watch over Sister Pauline Louise in her eternal home.
