Sunday of the Fathers of the First Six Ecumenical Councils The Fathers of the Councils proclaim to us today that the eternal Trinity is one God and one Lord. They explain the Trinity is one nature, consubstantial, of one will and one act, not divided nor shared but existing in the simplicity of God's Being. The Father's define that this will an act of God had no beginning and will never have an end. They also declare that Christ is one divine person having two natures, the one is divine and the other is human. Therefore, we the faithful honor these Fathers as equal to the Apostles, for they taught all people the true doctrine of God. Jesus said "Eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent." John 17:3 Keith Miller's job took him regularly across a long stretch of Texas desert. He writes: "I came to love the silence, the stillness, and the vastness very much. I became fascinated by the changes in the desert. The white, hot noonday blast with the heat waves rising... visibly off the highway... would change into an amazing coolness. The magnificent sunsets hinted at something wonderful and very real beyond the horizon... I began to sense something of the majesty of God in the world. There awoke in me a realization that I must somehow learn more about God and find out about Jesus Christ... This restlessness grew until one night at home in the middle of the night I woke my wife Mary Ellen and said, "Honey, I've got to go back to school to find out about God." Now, How eager I am to find our more about God and Jesus Christ, and why?
