Altar Service

Men and boys age 7 and older are invited to consider service at the altar.  

 

Icon and Gospel Girls

Girls age 7 and older are invited to take turns holding candles around the Holy Gospel whenever it is read.
Candles and lighters are located in the rear of the Cathedral and the Chapel.
The Icon girl precesses during the Small Entrance and stands behind the tetrapod while the Holy Gospel is read.

Cantors

Cantors with differing degrees of experience lead the congregation in worshippping in song at the various Divine Services.

Readers

Adults and teens are invited to proclaim the Epistle at the Divine Liturgy.

The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Prayer Group

Parishioners gather in the basement of the Cathedral on Fridays at 7:30pm to pray Vespers.
Those who are unable to join in person call in or send their intentions.
The prayer is followed by a time of fellowship.

St. Michael the Archangel Cathedral Rosary Society

Men and women, divided in groups called Roses, pray one decade of the Rosary daily.  Each group consists of 15 members who pray the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious mysteries completing a full Rosary daily. Presently we have 3 Roses.

Preaching to the Children

On the First Sunday of every month, Fr. Marek preaches to the children of the parish, their friends and any guests.

Rosary with the Children

The children of the parish and their friends join Adele Gimon and Miriam Visnovsky in praying the Rosary in the Byzantine Catholic Tradition.
They meet at 10:30am at the Chapel every last Sunday of the month.

St Michael's Food Pantry

Located in the basement of the Cathedral, St Michael's Food Pantry provides non-perishable food items for our neighbors in need every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11am.
Parishioners are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item every time they come for worship.
Our most-needed items are always bags of white rice, beans, cereals, pasta, sauce, and cans of tuna fish, meats, fruits, and vegetables.
Patrice Amatrudi is in charge of scheduling volunteers. Volunteers to serve our clients are always needed.  

Cooking and Baking

Our kitchen is in operation before Christmas, Pascha, and our Fall Festival.
Novices and experienced cooks and bakers are invited to help make pyrohy, holubky, halušky, kolač and babka.

Knights of Columbus

St Michael's Cathedral is the home of Fr. Juan Perez Council 262 of the Knights of Columbus.
The Council welcomes both Roman and Byzantine Catholic men and participates in spiritual, charitable and cultural events in the greater Passaic area.
